Call for Papers for 2010 5th Annual Conference, Saturday April 17th, SUNY Geneseo

An Exciting Opportunity for Presentation and Publication in the BRC Journals

The Business Research Consortium of WNY promotes academic scholarship related to business and economics. The first annual conference was held at Canisius College (Buffalo, NY) in Spring, 2006. The 2007 conference was held at St. Bonaventure (St. Bonaventure, NY). The 2008 conference was held at Niagara University (Niagara University, NY). The 2009 conference was held at St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY). The 2010 conference will be held at SUNY Geneseo The programs from these excellent conferences are available for download in our archives.

Topics

Research papers in all areas of business and economics are invited. Topics may include, but are not limited to: accounting, business ethics, economics, entrepreneurship, family business, finance, general management, health care systems, human resources and labor relations, insurance, information systems, industrial organization, international business, marketing, operations management, supply chains, strategy, transportation, and public policy. Program archives show a list of past papers presented.

Publication in BRC Journals

Participants whose papers are accepted for presentation may also elect to have their papers peer reviewed for possible publication in a BRC journal. The BRC publishes the following five journals: The BRC Academy Journal of Business - a journal for superior scholarship in business research, BRC Journal of Advances in Business - a journal dedicated to publishing preliminary investigations and emerging studies in business, The BRC Academy Journal of Education - a journal for superior scholarship in education with a focus on business education, BRC Journal of Advances in Education - a journal dedicated to publishing case studies, methods, and innovations in education, and The BRC Business Review - a journal dedicated to discussion of pragmatic and practitioner oriented issues in business.

Collegial Environment

The conference features a collegial environment in which to present your research and receive constructive feedback. Participants may be called upon to act as discussants or chair sessions.

Submission Deadlines

The following deadlines are in effect:

  • Registrations are accepted until March 8th, 2010 from this website - subject to available space.
  • Abstracts should be submitted from this website by March 8th, 2010 - subject to available space.
  • Paper acceptance / rejection will be communicated no later than March 15th, 2010.
  • Conference fees of $90 are due by April 10th, 2010
  • Checks should be made payable to SUNY Geneseo and sent to Mark Mitschow, School of Business, SUNY-Geneseo, 1 College Circle Geneseo, New York 14454
  • First drafts of papers should be uploaded from this website and also directly emailed to the assigned discussant after notification of acceptance. As a courtesy to the discussant, please upload and email papers as soon as possible but no later than April 10th, 2010.
  • Final papers will be accepted for journal consideration until June 1st, 2010 provided the paper was accepted and presented at the conference and is uploaded from this website.
  • Participants who submit papers for consideration for publication in a BRC Journal will be notified by July 15, 2010 of the status of the submission.
